BFA SUMMER LEAGUE MATCH REPORTS 2008
24/08/08 ACE CREATE HISTORY IN SEASON FINALE
Newly crowned BFA second division champions ACE FC have capped a remarkable achievement in the club’s history after ending another season unbeaten in the league. Their unbeaten league form goes back to the start of the BFA third division summer league 2007.
Meanwhile ACE displayed a woeful first half performance against rivals Elite Youth. They lacked creativity and did not look like a championship winning team. ACE’ club captain was the first to test the goal keeper after seeing his low shot saved. Syed Ali thought that he had broken the deadlock but his shot rattled the underside of the crossbar. Elite Youth came close to scoring but their attempt on goal was tipped over the crossbar. Straight after the restart winger Nurul Haque’s shot flew inches wide away from the target. Abdul Sabur’s strike was denied by the woodwork. Seconds later ACE found themselves trailing a goal down, after centre-back Shahidul Kabir lost possession of the ball in a dangerous territory. ACE persevered into getting an equaliser and salvaging their excellent league form in 2008 until the final 10 minutes, when Syed’s cross was headed in by Sabur. Syed then scored ACE’ second after some scrappy play in the opposition’s defensive half. Abdul Miah extended the lead further from the spot-kick after ACE were awarded a penalty for handball in the 18 yard box.

10/08/08 SHOCK BYM DEFEAT HANDS TITLE TO ACE
ACE FC have been crowned champions of the BFA second division without kicking a ball and remain on course for an unprecedented back to back undefeated championship. But who was to know what the day had installed for them as there were many twists and turns in the race for second place. Having lost last week, London Tigers ‘B’ ended up taking the runners’ up spot. A shock 3-1 defeat to Bromley ‘B’ saw BYM’s promotion hopes ended in tears as they were leading for most of the campaign but faltered on the last hurdle. (NEWHAM 0-0 ACE) - ACE awarded the win
03/08/08 ACE ONE WIN AWAY FROM PROMOTION
ACE FC are one win away from securing promotion to the first division. With a game in hand and without kicking a ball in three weeks ACE needed the 3 points to keep their title contention alive and were given a major boost when local rivals Hackney Probashi drew 0-0 against Brothers Union and London Tigers losing against Vallance FC. ACE made a nervous start against Bromley ‘B’ and 10 minutes into the game found themselves falling behind after some woeful defending during a set-piece. ACE did pull a goal back after Syed Ali’s cross was bundled into the net by Nazmul Hussain After a shock wake up call ACE did respond by producing some of the finest football and deservedly took the lead when Aziz Diallo threaded the ball to Syed Ali who struck the ball with great power and venom. ACE were lucky not to have conceded another after Bromley ‘B’s front man Prince saw his acrobatic scissor kick attempt go wide and was giving ACE’ centre-backs Christopher Mukunku and Jual Ali a rough time. After the restart ACE shifted a gear and extended their lead even further. Nazmul Hussain scored his second of the match and what must be considered as a sensational build up where no fewer than ten passes were exchanged amongst the players, starting from the defence. With the angle against him Abdul Sabur rounded off the match with some fancy foot work and the use of his pace to beat several opponents before curling the ball into the bottom right-hand corner. Meanwhile the defensive duo of Chris and Jual managed to keep Prince quiet during the entire second half. (ACE 4-1 BROMLEY BY BOW 'B')

13/07/08 ACE GO TOP FOR THE FIRST TIME
ACE FC have gone to the top of the BFA second division for the first time this season after beating Mohammedan ‘B’ 2-1. Earlier on ACE watched Hackney Probashi and BYM battle it out on the field. BYM recorded another victory after beating one of their title contenders 3-1. Meanwhile London Tigers ‘B’ thrashed FC Brick Lane 4-1, and has now left the championship race wide open as any of the top four teams can be promoted. Prior to kick-off ACE knew that they could not afford to slip up as the team went in search for nothing less than another victory. Couple of minutes after kick-off ACE took the lead after Syed Ali crossed the ball to fellow team-mate Nazmul Hussain who tapped the ball past former ACE goalkeeper Iqbal Hussain. Seconds later ACE should’ve scored another but were denied by the post. Just before the end of the first half Mohammedan ‘B’ got their equalizer after some poor defending by ACE. After the half-time team talk, ACE responded well by creating numerous chances. Jallal Miah saw his shot struck directly at the keeper and then later saw his shot ricocheted off the woodwork. The pressure was beginning to mount on ACE but Nazmul salvaged three vital points by restoring ACE’ lead after being played a superb ball from playmaker Abdul Miah. (MOHAMMEDAN 'B' 1-2 ACE)

06/07/08 ACE CAPITALISE AS TOP THREE SLIP UP
ACE FC made sure that they took full advantage by picking up another three points after seeing top three sides being held to a goalless draw. The victory for ACE now means that they're second in the league table level on points with Hackney Probashi & BYM and also with a better goal difference from BYM. ACE returned to action against Robin Hood after a fortnight’s break. Manager Hassan Khan had to shuffle players around due to several absentees. Straight from the kick off ACE dominated the half with possession and created a hatful of chances to take the lead within the first few minutes of the game but Syed Ali and Onaldo Dos Santos’ shots were either blazed over the bar or across the face of the goal. Midway through the first half ACE took the lead and deservedly did so after Onaldo Dos Santos’ corner kick was bundled into the net by Syed. ACE’ Ryan Clarke came close to adding another but his shot went wide. Robin Hood did not create any clear cut chances. 10 minutes through the second half ACE extended lead after Abdul Sabur created an opportunity for substitute Frederic Mukunku who rolled the ball into the goal. It was his first goal since the opening game of the season against London Tigers 'B'. Frederic had another chance to but his shot was blocked by a defender. (ACE 2-0 ROBIN HOOD)

15/06/08 ACE LOSE ON DRAMATIC SHOOT-OUT
ACE FC have failed to go beyond the first round of the annual BFA Cup after losing 4-2 in a dramatic penalty shout-out. ACE dominated most of the half with possession but trailed the Premiership side after 10 minutes when goalkeeper Konok Miah was beaten to the ball in the air by Abohani’s strong and powerful centre forward. ACE re-grouped after the restart and tested the keeper on numerous occasions and should’ve got the equaliser after Syed Ali’s shot was parried by the keeper but M.H. Balde’s follow-up was directly struck back at him. ACE got the goal that they were looking for when Aziz Diallo turned provider for Jual Ali who scored his first goal in just over a year.
The second half was evenly contested between both sides. Neither team created any decent chances. At the end of 90 minutes the match ended one a piece and had to be settled in a penalty shoot-out. In the shoot-out ACE’ Frederic Mukunku and Shahidul Kabir converted their penalties unfortunately Jallal Miah and Abdul Sabur were unlucky not to do so. ACE felt that they should’ve won the match at the end of normal time with the attacking free flow football they’re known to play with. (ABOHANI 'A' 1-1 ACE - Abohani 'A' won 4-2 on pens)

08/06/08 SYED'S DOUBLE INSPIRES ACE TO ANOTHER VICTORY
ACE FC’ Syed Ali’s brace of goals inspired ACE to picking up another vital three points as ACE look to maintain the pressure on the league’s top two teams BYM and Hackney Probashi. ACE made some minor adjustments to the team that thrashed FC Brick Lane and started very positively by dominating the half with much of the possession. 6 minutes into the game Ryan Clarke opened the account after curling the ball past the far post. Minutes later ACE extended their lead after being awarded a penalty for handball. ACE’ Brazilian playmaker Onaldo Dos Santos calmly slotted the ball into the net. ACE almost came close to letting Brothers back into the game when the ball was lofted over their goalkeeper Konok Miah but his right-back Shamiur Rahman anticipated on the error and cleared the ball for a corner kick.
The second half saw ACE step up a gear with the midfield quartet of Syed, Onaldo, M-H Balde and Jallal Miah dictating the game. It wasn’t long until Syed got his first after Onaldo’s corner kick was bundled in at the far post. Nazmul Hussain’s saw his shot denied by an acrobatic goalkeeper. Balde also came close to getting his name on the scoresheet but his vicious header was well off target before Syed scored his second with a typical low drive for his 6th goal of the season. ACE FC remain in the fourth position after Hackney, BYM and London Tigers 'B' all won. ACE return to league action in a fortnight's time when they entertain bottom of the league side Newham. 01/06/08 CLASSY ACE HIT SIX
ACE FC cruised to a 6-0 win over local rivals FC Brick Lane after scoring five second half goals. Brick Lane started brightly and had lot of the early possession but failed to create any decent chances. ACE' early chance fell to Frederic Mukunku who made a great run in the box, only to be denied by the keeper. ACE were awarded a penalty after 15 minutes which seemed controversial but Jallal Miah made no mistake from 12 yards as he sent the keeper wrong way for his second goal of the season. Brick Lane looked for a quick equaliser but struggled to beat ACE' defence. Syed Ali came close to adding a second before the interval but his vicious free kick was inches wide of the post. Brick Lane had the last chance of the half to draw level but a goal bound effort was cleared off the line by Syed.
ACE kicked off the second half and took control of the match as Syed scored a second with a low shot. FC Brick Lane's task was made more difficult after they were reduced to ten men. Substitute Ryan Clarke came off the bench to score a third as ACE created hatful of chances. Syed who had a superb match on the left of midfield scored his second with a thunderous shot which crashed in off the cross bar. Nazmul Hussain added a fifth from close range. FC Brick Lane wasted a great chance to score a consolation goal after Shahidul Kabir gave away a soft penalty but Konok Miah saved the penalty not once but twice. Konok brilliantly saved the first spot kick but the linesman flagged for a re-take and Konok superbly saved again to keep a clean sheet. Ryan completed the rout in the stoppage time for his second of the match.

25/05/08 ONALDO'S DOUBLE GIVES ACE 3 MUCH NEEDED POINTS
ACE FC picked up 3 vital points after beating Vallance Youth 2-1. It was their second win of the season after failing to pick up maximum points in their previous two league games. ACE made 7 changes to the starting line up due to injuries and illness. Vallance started the half brightly and wasted good chances as ACE struggled to get into the match. Nazmul Hussain had ACE's best chance but his superb volley was tipped over the bar for a corner kick and Shahidul Kabir headed the resulting corner over the bar. ACE took the lead midway through the first half thanks to recalled Brazilian play maker Onaldo Dos Santos, his low shot was deflected past the keeper.
Vallance Youth kicked off the second half and got their equaliser 7 minutes into the half, by breaking into the box and placing a low shot into the corner. The goal gave them confidence as they were searching for the important second goal but ACE defended well. ACE manager Hassan Khan made couple of substitutions and they made an immediate impact on the pitch as Ryan Clarke replaced Nazmul Hussain, and Jallal Miah replaced Abdul Miah. Ryan almost scored with his first touch after Abdul Sabur played him in with a superb pass but the Vallance keeper made the block. ACE got their winner with about 5 minutes left to play after Syed Ali sent Ryan Clarke clear on the left and the striker won a penalty for handball and Onaldo Dos Santos scored his second with a well taken penalty to give ACE 3 much needed points.

18/05/08 DEJA VU ONCE AGAIN AS ACE ARE HELD
It was deja vu once again as ACE were held to a draw for the second week running despite leading against promotion favourites Hackney/E7 side. ACE started brightly and had lot of the early possession but very few chances were created by both sides. ACE did take the lead after 10 minutes through Syed Ali who blasted a shot from 20 yards to put ACE 1-0 up for his second goal of the season. ACE's lead only lasted 5 minutes as Hackney got their equaliser with a well taken goal from outside the box. Hackney caused lot of problems for ACE with their long throw tactics and wasted good chances to go in front. Aziz Diallo and Syed Ali had efforts saved by the keeper as the first half ended all square.
ACE kicked off the second half but found it difficult to open up the Hackney defence. Mawaitou Hambaliou Balde saw a 25 yard drive go inches wide of the post. Ryan Clarke gave ACE a 2-1 lead after the Hackney keeper failed to clear a cross and the ball fall kindly for Ryan to smash it in from close range. Syed Ali had a great chance to put ACE 3-1 up but he decided to cross the ball for Ryan Clarke who was making the run, but the defence cleared the danger. With about 15 minutes remaining Hackney drew level after a long throw was flicked on at the back post and their winger headed the ball past Konok Miah. Nazmul Hussain came of the bench and wasted two good chances to put ACE in front. Konok Miah kept ACE in the match with two superb saves late on.

11/05/08 ACE DRAW AFTER LATE BYM SURGE
ACE took on one of the promotion favourites BYM and made the worst possible start by gifting them a goal within 15 seconds after the kick off. ACE's team selection took a major blow after first choice goalkeeper Konok Miah had to pull out due to personal circumstances and players were shuffled around. ACE responded 5 minutes later to draw level thanks to Syed Ali, the winger opening his goal account with a low powerful shot. ACE's football improved and they went in front after Aaron Fisher's corner was headed in by Mawiatou Hambaliou Balde. ACE pressed forward for the third but Nazmul Hussain and Abdul Sabur had efforts saved. ACE were denied a penalty claim after Abdul Sabur was bundled in the area but the linesman flagged for a goal kick.

04/05/08 ACE GET THEIR CAMPAIGN OFF TO A FLYING START
ACE started the 2008 BFA summer league season with three points and an excellent display from the team. Two minutes into the match ACE conceded a penalty, Abdul Miah appeared to trip a Tiger's player in the box but Konok Miah came to his rescue by brilliantly saving the spot kick. Syed Ali had ACE's first chance after 5 minutes but his powerful effort was saved by the keeper. Minutes later ACE were awarded a penalty after Nazmul Hussain was brought down in the box and club captain Jallal Miah converted the spot kick. Abdul Sabur came off the bench to restore the lead with a clinical finish after being played a peach of a ball from Abdul Miah. 09/03/08 PREMIERSHIP DREAM ENDS DESPITE WIN
A thrilling climax to the end of season saw ACE FC narrowly miss out on promotion to the premiership. Despite the win ACE went to second place in the table for a few hours, only to see Beaumont thrash league leaders SCTA to finish as runners up. It was an uninspiring first half lacking in quality from both sides and apart from occasional flurry of activity, ACE showed little flair and gave the ball away too many times and looked nervous. Ryan Clarke had ACE's best chance of the first half as he ran on to a through ball and crashed his shot against the underside of the crossbar. Newark responded with a chance of their own as their polish striker saw his chip clip of the crossbar. ACE had lot of the possession but lacked the killer instinct in front of the goal.
ACE dominated the second half and looked like a different side, the football was much better as ACE started to cause Newark problems. The deadlock was broken after 64th minute, Newark failed to clear a corner and the ball fell to Shahidul Kabir who took on two players before unleashing a powerful low shot from 20 yards into the bottom corner for his 1st ever competitive goal in ACE colours. ACE almost made it two as Frederic Mukunku wasted a great chance. Syed Ali then set up Frederic Mukunku with another chance but his shot was blocked on the line by a defender. Nazmul Hussain also had a header brilliantly saved by the keeper as ACE looked for the second goal. A superb run towards the second half of the season saw ACE FC the only unbeaten side in Division One and now must wait for the BFA Summer League for more success.

02/03/08 RACE FOR SECOND PLACE GOES TO THE WIRE
The race for second place has gone right down to the wire as both ACE FC and Beaumont FC have beaten their oppositions in their penultimate games. ACE FC ended the newly crowned champions, SCTA’ long unbeaten run after beating them 2-0.
The match started very brightly for ACE as they had a big appetite of getting the first goal as they dominated most of the half with possession. But it wasn’t long until ACE’ midfield made up of Abdul Miah, Jallal Miah, Anderson Nkafu Aka and Syed Ali started producing the goods. Short intricate passes between them led to the opening goal after 10 minutes when Syed Ali released the in-form Anderson Nkafu Aka who blasted the ball into the back of the net. The newly crowned champions responded by creating a hatful of chances and almost came close to getting an equalizer but were denied by a last ditch tackle by Shamiur Rahman who was deputising for Christopher Mukunku. The second half saw a similar story for ACE, which saw SCTA create very little chances but could not find a way of breaking down ACE’ defence. Syed Ali came very close to extending ACE’ lead but his strike bounced back off the woodwork. With less than 2 minutes remaining on the clock substitute Nazmul Hussain sealed the game for ACE with his 25 yard wonder strike. Team: Konok, Aman, Aaron, Shamiur, Shahidul,

24/02/08 ACE CAPITALISE ON BEAUMONT SLIP
ACE dominated this match from start to finish and should have won by a big scoreline. ACE opened up the Berner defence within the the first two minutes as Nazmul Hussain tested the keeper from close range. Minutes later Anderson Nkafu Aka's header was tipped over the bar and from the resulting corner kick Syed Ali's low shot was brilliantly saved by Berner's keeper as ACE piled on the pressure. Despite the dominant start ACE fell behind after 20 minutes as Berner took a shock lead from a corner kick with their first attempt on goal. ACE responded with a quick equaliser after some good work by Nazmul Hussain and his low cross was turned in by Frederic Mukunku. 10 minutes before the break ACE went in front after Aman Uddin's cross from the right was volleyed in by Anderson Nkafu Aka. ACE had chances to extend the lead through Nazmul Hussain, Jallal Miah, Syed Ali and Anderson Nkafu Aka all going close.
FC Berner kicked off the second half and hardly tested Shamiur Rahman in goal as ACE controlled the half and going onto score two more goals. Syed Ali missed a great chance to put ACE 3-1 up but his shot was straight at the keeper. Frederic Mukunku's fancy footwork dazzled the opposition defender and his cross was met by Anderson Nkafu Aka who placed the ball past the keeper for his second of the match. Man of the match Frederic Mukunku smashed in the fourth with great venom for his 10th goal of the season. Aman Uddin made an amazing run through group of players only to be denied by the keeper as he searched for his 1st ever goal in ACE colours. Substitute Surot Miah missed a sitter in injury time after Abdul Sabur handed the ball to him for a simple tap in and he scuffed his shot from 6 yards out. With 2 games remaining the fight for promotion goes on after Beaumont were held to a 3-3 draw against West Ham SC.

17/02/08 REDS MAINTAIN PROMOTION PUSH
ACE FC remain in 4th place after this convincing victory over struggling Newark side. Newark made the bright start and wasted couple of good chances early on and also had an effort crash against the post. ACE started slowly and wasted a great chance after 10 minutes, Nazmul Hussain crossed low from the right for Aziz Diallo but his shot was blocked by a defender. Nazmul Hussain also had a shot saved by Newark's keeper as ACE started to create the openings. ACE opened the scoring on the half hour mark through Syed Ali as he headed past the keeper from a Aziz Diallo's free kick for his 13th goal of the season. 5 minutes later ACE almost doubled the lead from a Aziz Diallo's free kick from 35 yards out which dipped onto the crossbar and went out for a goal kick.
ACE kicked off the second half and came close to adding another through Frederic Mukunku, but his low shot went wide of the post. ACE conceded a soft equaliser after Konok Miah fumbled a cross and Newark's striker placed a simple shot into the empty net. ACE immeadiately responded and Onaldo Dos Santos saw his long range shot tipped onto the crossbar. With half an hour remaining ACE controlled the match and took the lead after Frederic Mukunku released Onaldo Dos Santos on the right and the Brazilian beat the offside trap to score from a tight angle. Frederic Mukunku turned provider again 5 minutes later as he found Ryan Clarke and he hammered a shot past the keeper to put ACE 3-1 up. Youngster Frederic Mukunku limped off injured with 20 minutes remaining and was replaced by Jallal Miah, who made his comeback after missing the last 5 matches.

10/02/08 ACE HELD TO A GOALLESS DRAW
ACE FC picked up a point from this ill tempered top of the table clash against Elite Youth. Both teams came out looking to take all 3 points but couldn't find a way past the keepers. Manager Hassan Khan had to make changes to the team as key players were absent from the team that beat Beaumont last week. The game started at a slow pace and fewer chances being created by both sides. Nazmul Hussain had the first chance of the match but his weak shot was easily saved by Elite Youth's keeper. ACE's keeper Shamiur Rahman made a superb save to deny Elite Youth the lead on stroke of half time. But the sides defended really well to keep the scoreline at 0-0.
The second half started at a fast pace as the teams looked for the opening goal and ACE FC had to deal with a lot of long balls from Elite Youth. Christopher Mukunku had ACE's best chance of the second half from a corner kick but his goal bound effort was blocked on the line by a defender. Aaron Fisher had another chance for ACE but his 30 yard free kick was tipped over the bar for a corner kick. With less than 15 minutes remaining the match was marred by some ugly scences as both teams started a brawl on and off the pitch and once the match resumed there were no chances as the teams failed to find the back of the net. The draw leaves ACE on 4th place, 4 points behind Beaumont and 5 points behind 2nd placed Elite Youth.

03/02/08 BEAUMONT BEDAZZLED AFTER BEING OUTCLASSED BY ACE
ACE FC ran riot against Beaumont FC and left them feeling the blues after losing 7-2. The victory for ACE leaves them with a possibility of being promoted to the top flight after Elite Youth FC’ shock defeat against Berner FC and can end being a three way tussle for second spot. The victory over Beaumont leaves ACE five points behind second place Elite Youth.
The last time ACE played Beaumont it was a very one sided game after demoralising the reds. ACE made a bright start against their fierce rivals and took the lead when Aziz Diallo collected the ball in his own half and went on rampaging run beating several Beaumont players and neatly tucking the ball past the keeper. ACE’ Frederic Mukunku scored his first of the game with a powerful low drive. Beaumont did get back into the game as the reds were caught out on the counter-attack. With the score at 2-1 ACE’ goal keeper Shamiur Rahman made a string of fine saves to keep his side ahead. It was another superb performance from the midfield duo Onaldo Dos Santos and Abdul Miah. Abdul’s excellent distribution of the ball lead to Frederic scoring his second of the game. ACE took an unprecedented 4-1 lead into the half when Nazmul Hussain got his 11th goal of the season. After the break ACE had the determination to score more goals and their fifth was scored by Frederic from close range. The talented youngster got his second hat-trick for the reds before Beaumont got their second. Frederic’s fourth goal was simply breath-taking after striking the ball with great venom from a very tight angle. Prior to the final whistle Frederic turned provider to Ryan Clarke who got his first league goal since the beginning of December. It was a great game for the reds who defended well together as a unit, with centre-back Christopher Mukunku making some crucial challenges at times. 27/01/08 FIVE-STAR ACE CRUISE THROUGH
A superb team performance by ACE FC saw them easily beat Bromley By Bow 'B' at Victoria Park. Man of the Match Nazmul Hussain scored four of the goals to take his tally to 10. ACE scored with their first attack of the match after 2 minutes Abdul Miah's superb cross fall kindly for Nazmul Hussain and he volleyed past the keeper. Nazmul added a second 6 minutes later from close range. Syed Ali headed in ACE's third and before the break Nazmul Hussain completed his hat-trick with a header and scored his fourth goal of the day with a low shot. ACE's stand in keeper Shamiur Rahman had a quiet game and was more of a spectator as Bromley By Bow 'B' failed to create any chances. ACE dominated the opening 45 minutes and deservedly went in at the break 5-0 up.
Bromley By Bow 'B' kicked off the second half and came very close to pulling a goal back as they struck the post with a low shot. ACE should have scored more through Nazmul Hussain, Anderson Nkafu Aka, Syed Ali and sub Onaldo Dos Santos all wasted good opportunites. The day belonged to Nazmul Hussain as he scored four first half goals for his 60th ACE goal and was given a deserved ovation when he was replaced by Abdul Sabur. ACE will now need to repeat the same form as they face 3rd placed Beaumont side next week in a crunch match.

20/01/08 LATE WEST HAM SC FIGHTBACK STUNS ACE
ACE FC claimed a point when it should have easily been 3 points. ACE were leading 3-1 with less than 10 minutes remaining but were left stunned by visiting struggling side West Ham SC. ACE made several changes to the team which thrashed Poplar last week and dominated much of the game. Nazmul Hussain wasted a great chance after 7 minutes when he was put through on goal but dragged his shot wide of the post. ACE took the lead after 25 minutes through Frederic Mukunku who volleyed past the keeper for his fourth goal in only his 2nd appearance for the club. Ryan Clarke missed a sitter 5 minutes later and Syed Ali wasted a great chance late in the first half as ACE searched for the second goal.
West Ham SC kicked off the second half and came close to equalising within the first 2 minutes but Konok Miah made a superb diving save to deny them the goal. Nazmul Hussain gave ACE a 2-0 lead after 60 minutes tapping in from Frederic Mukunku's low cross. West Ham SC immediately pulled a goal back after a defensive mistake to trail 2-1. ACE restored their 2 goal lead thanks to Jual Ali after he played a neat one two with Syed Ali and bundled home from Ryan Clarke's cross. With less than 10 minutes remaining ACE's afternoon turned into a nightmare as they allowed West Ham SC back in the game. West Ham's striker added his second and claimed his hat-trick with an un-stoppable shot from a tight angle after 88 minutes to snatch a point out of nothing.

13/01/08 DEBUTANT FREDERIC NETS HAT-TRICK AS ACE HIT TEN
After a lengthy break over the festive period ACE FC picked up another vital three points from rocked bottom team Poplar FC. Hassan Khan recruited brothers Christopher and Frederic Mukunku and Bayo Sonubi to bolster his squad, as well seeing the return of goal keeper Konak Miah. All three debutants made a huge impact on the pitch.
2 minutes into the game ACE went a goal down after Jual Ali’s defensive error allowed Poplar to capitalise and take the lead. Minutes later Aziz Diallo saw his powerful low shot struck the post before Syed Ali equalised for ACE from Abdul Sabur’s cross. Debutant Frederic scored on his debut and his first of the afternoon to give ACE a 2-1 lead. Syed headed in his second from Aaron Fisher’s free-kick before Frederic scored his second from close range. Just before the half-time interval Syed completed his hat-trick with another header from Aaron’s set-piece delivery. ACE ended the half with a 5-1 lead. ACE were too strong for Poplar, whom rarely tested ACE’s Konak Miah in goal who spent most of the game as a spectator. 15 minutes into the second half Frederic completed his hat-trick with a well taken goal. Shamiur Rahman scored his first ever goal in ACE colours with a low drive to make it 7-1. ACE’s Brazilian midfield maestro Onaldo Dos Santos got his first after a clinical finish. Substitute Anderson Nkafu Aka scored a superb goal with the outside of his foot, which saw the ball come off the post and into the net. There seems to be confusion between Syed and Anderson as to who scored their tenth goal but looks as though that Syed will be claiming it. Aziz Diallo had several good chances but it wasn’t to be his day in front of goal. Team: Konok, Shamiur, Jual (Aman), Chris, Aaron, Bayo (Anderson), Onaldo,

ACE easily won this entertaining friendly match by trashing Brick Lane FC at Victoria Park. Syed Ali opened the scoring after 5 minutes. Both sides wasted good opportunities and saw efforts crashing against the post. Brick Lane equalised after 25 minutes and conceded a penalty shortly after, ACE's new signing Frederic Mukunku had an excellent debut and was fouled in the penalty area and he got up to hammer the spot kick past the keeper, as ACE took a 2-1 lead at the interval.
ACE added five more goals in the second half to complete the rout. Ryan Clarke scored ACE's third, sub Abdul Sabur blasted a fourth and Frederic Mukunku scored his second of the match with a superb shot from edge of the box. It was one sided in the second half as ACE dominated with possession. Ryan Clarke tapped in to make it 6-1 and Frederic's brother Christopher Mukunku who also made his debut at the defence headed in the seventh from Surot Miah's corner.

16/12/07 DISMAL PERFORMANCE AGAINST SCTA
Despite making a bright start ACE suffer a big defeat against the league leaders. ACE gave a full debut to Abdul Sabur and recalled Aziz Diallo and Shahidul Kabir to the starting line up. 5 minutes into the match ACE conceded a soft goal SCTA's striker outpacing ACE's defence to slot past Shahed Kashem. The goal gave SCTA confidence and they added a second after 10 minutes. The game was all but over on the half hour mark as SCTA midfielder rifled in a shot from 25 yards. ACE came close to pulling a goal back after Aaron Fisher's free kick was tipped onto the crossbar. SCTA scored the fourth before the break after Aaron Fisher failed to clear the ball and the striker lifted the ball over the keeper.
ACE started the second half looking to find a way past the SCTA defence and came close to scoring but the keeper denied them with a good save. SCTA scored two more goals inside 10 second half minutes to lead 6-0 as ACE defended shockingly. ACE's attacking play improved and looked threatening going forward with Nazmul Hussain, Syed Ali and Aziz Diallo all wasting good chances. With half an hour remaining ACE pulled two goals back, Aziz Diallo scoring his first goal of the season from close range after some good work by Jual Ali on the left and Nazmul Hussain bundled the ball in from close range for the second. 09/12/07 SOUL DAMP ACE OUT OF THE CUP
ACE FC suffered a shocking defeat at the hands of SOUL in the second round of the Inner London Football League cup. ACE team was weakened by the absence of club captain Mawaitou Hambaliou Balde, Onaldo Dos Santos, Aziz Diallo and Shahidul Kabir. ACE dominated the first half and deservedly took the lead after 10 minutes, Jual Ali played a neat one two with Syed Ali and his low cross was tapped in by Nazmul Hussain. SOUL drew level on the half hour mark and took the lead 5 minutes later after Jual Ali gave away a penalty, which was easily dispatched. Before the interval Anderson Nkafu Aka conceded a free kick which ACE failed to clear and SOUL's defender thumped in a powerful shot past the keeper to make it 3-1.
ACE kicked off the second half in search of goals and came close to scoring within the first two minutes but the keeper made a great save to deny them. Ryan Clarke pulled a goal back from close range to trail 2-3. But ACE's task was made difficult when SOUL added a controversail fourth on the break. Abdul Miah saw a vicious shot smash against the cross bar and a minute later Jallal Miah's 25 yarder came back of the bar as ACE looked to get back in the game. Abdul Sabur made his long awaited debut after replacing Anderson Nkafu Aka and wasted no time by scoring a well taken goal after 78 minutes. Syed Ali missed a glorious opportunity to take the match to penalties but his effort was off target from close range.
Team: Shahed, Mojidur (Aman), Jual, Shamiur, Aaron, Anderson (Sabur), Jallal, Abdul, Nazmul (Nurul),

02/12/07 ACE CLAIM 3 MUCH NEEDED POINTS
ACE FC ended a recent run of defeats to claim three much needed points against FC Berner. It took ACE just over a minute to break the deadlock after some good work by Abdul Miah on the right found Onaldo Dos Santos and his low cross fall kindly for Syed Ali who turned his man and hit a low shot past the keeper. ACE controlled the first half and should have scored more as FC Berner hardly tested Konok Miah in goal who was making his first start to the season. ACE added a second after 18 minutes, fancy footwork by Onaldo Dos Santos caused Berner's defence all kind of problems and his cross was volleyed in by Ryan Clarke. Berner pulled a goal back 5 minutes later from a free kick which deceived Konok in goal. ACE restored their two goal lead on stroke of half time, Aaron Fisher scoring a goal of the season contender as his free kick from his own half floated into the net.
FC Berner raised their game in the second half and wasted a great opportunity from the spot kick after Mawaitou Hambaliou Balde gave away a soft penalty which they failed to convert. Man of the Match Onaldo Dos Santos scored ACE's fourth with a low shot from 18 yards. Sub Anderson Nkafu Aka came close to adding his name on the score sheet as his header was cleared off the line. Berner pulled two goals back to trail 4-3 but they left it to late for a dramatic comeback. ACE will have a break from the league next week as they take on Soul in the cup second round before they entertain league leaders SCTA.

18/11/07 ACE SLUMP TO ANOTHER DEFEAT
ACE FC' lost back to back games for the first time this season. ACE had lot of the possession in the first half but found it difficult to create any clear cut chances as Elite Youth defended very well in numbers. Elite Youth caused ACE's defence lot of problems with their long balls and came close to scoring the opening goal after 15 minutes after a poor control by Shahidul Kabir let one of Elite's striker through on goal but his effort was off target. ACE's captain Mawaitou Hambaliou Balde thought he had opened the scoring on the half hour mark after lifting the ball over the keeper but Syed Ali who scrambled the ball into the net was offside.
Second half started at a slow pace as both teams struggled to get into the game and created few chances. Aziz Diallo had ACE's best chance his 25 yard free kick was fumbled by the keeper and Jallal Miah couldn't force the ball into the net and Elite Youth cleared their lines. The deadlock was broken with 15 minutes remaining after ACE failed to clear a long ball and Elite's striker turned Shahidul Kabir from the left hand side and fired a low shot past Shamiur Rahman. Elite Youth's sub outpaced ACE's defence to score a second with 5 minutes remaining. ACE failed to score a league goal for the first time since the 1-0 defeat against Beaumont back in February 18th 2007. Team: Shamiur, Aman, Mojidur, Shahidul, Aaron, Balde, Jallal (Nurul),

11/11/07 ACE FALTER AGAINST BEAUMONT
ACE FC' unbeaten record came to an end after losing 5-1 to a strong and physical Beaumont side who have also hit form in recent weeks. Manager Hassan Khan was faced with a dilemma when Onaldo Dos Santos, Aziz Diallo and Nazmul Hussain were all absent from the main starting eleven, and leaving Hassan with only Aman Uddin being the experienced player on the bench after recovering from a cold. This meant that Mojidur Rahman made a swift return at right-back. It was a dismal performance by ACE after conceding a goal from a corner-kick within the first 6 minutes of the game. Syed Ali was beaten in the air and goal keeper Shamiur Rahman just couldn’t prevent the header from flying past the goal line. Ten minutes later ACE conceded another after a lack of communication between Shamiur and his centre-back Shahidul Kabir. ACE rarely tested their opponents’ goal keeper. After the half-time team talk ACE tried to alter the score line but it wasn’t to be their day after conceding a third and from that moment onwards Beaumont stepped up gear and went on to score another two more goals. ACE’ winger Syed Ali did score a consolation goal but it was too late as they had a mountain to climb. Team: Shamiur, Mojidur (Aman), Jual, Shahidul, Anderson, Balde, Jallal (Surot), Abdul (Nurul), Aaron,

04/11/07 SYED’S HAT-TRICK SHOOTS ACE TO THE TOP
This week’s super Sunday clash saw the league’s top two teams go head to head against one another as ACE FC and West Ham SC contested for top spot. With both teams in outstanding form over recent weeks meant that both ACE and West Ham SC went into the game as two of three unbeaten teams this season. A win for ACE would mean a one point lead at the top from their rivals.
Manager Hassan Khan had to reshuffle his squad around as several key players were absent from the team that beat Robin Hood FC 8-1. It meant the return of Anderson Nkafu Aka marshalling in defence with Aaron Fisher for the absent Shahidul Kabir and their captain Mawiatou Hambaliou Balde switching to right-back for Aman Uddin who was unfortunate to miss out due to shrugging off a viral infection. West Ham looked very strong within the first few minutes as they pressed on to take the lead. 13 minutes into the game and ACE took the lead after Syed Ali dribbled around the keeper to score his first. From then on it was an evenly contested half with both teams looking to score goals. Ryan Clarke almost doubled ACE’ lead but his shot was inches away from the target. West Ham did have a decent effort on goal but went over the crossbar.
The second half saw a completely different West Ham as they had a very good spell for the first 10 to 15 minutes, which put West Ham right back into the game after scoring from a set-piece situation. Minutes after equalizing ACE found themselves trailing 2-1. Hassan made immediate changes to his tactics and eventually paid off after Nazmul Hussain got their equalizer by thumping the ball from close range. It all looked set to end all square but Syed was on hand to spoil West Ham’s celebrations Aziz Diallo made his trademark run with the ball, where there seemed to be some sort of a mix up with the keeper, but luckily Syed capitalised on the error to score his second. Syed completed his hat-trick with a header. As for Syed, it now means that he’s on level terms with Ryan and Nazmul who both scored four hat-tricks for the club.

28/10/07 MEN IN TIGHTS” SHOT DOWN BY ACE
Within the space of few months ACE were drawn against their BFA third division counterpart Robin Hood FC in the annual ILFL Cup. The last time both teams went head-to head ACE came out on top by thrashing Robin Hood 4-0. The ‘men in tights’ did not want a repeat performance and were looking to cause a big upset in the first round. Unfortunately it did not go according to plan for Robin Hood as they fell behind within the first 10 minutes after Syed Ali’s cross found Abdul Miah who simply tapped the ball into the net. 6 minutes later Jallal Miah scored from the spot-kick after Syed was tripped inside the penalty area. Syed scored ACE’ third goal. The half ended with an assailable lead for ACE as Aman Uddin crossed the ball to Onaldo Dos Santos who sensationally struck a volley. ACE should have been leading the match by a mile but their finishing in front of goal was lackluster at times.
After the half-time interval Robin Hood pulled a goal back after being awarded a controversial penalty where the referee claimed that Aaron Fisher handled the ball with his hand inside his own penalty area. Goal keeper Shamiur Rahman had a quiet game and the young 21 year old almost made a huge impact as he came close to saving the penalty when he dived low to his left although getting a hand on the ball, the ball just about squeezed past him. Ryan Clarke came off the bench and scored a superb hat-trick within 10 minutes. His first goal came when he picked up Mawiatou Hambaliou Balde’s through ball. Minutes later Ryan scored a stunning header after Aman whipped in a magnificent cross. Ryan then went on to complete his hat-trick with a low drive. Substitute Nurul Hoque scored his first ever goal for the club after sliding the ball into the net. This will certainly help him gain confidence as he is beginning to go from strength to strength. The winger came close to adding another to his name but his powerful shot was punched away by the keeper.

21/10/07 TRIUMPHANT ACE SHINE AGAINST POPLAR
After a month’s break from football ACE FC returned to action in style as they thrashed Poplar FC 6-0. Three minutes after the kick-off ACE scored the first goal after Ryan Clarke whipped in a cross for Nazmul Hussain who smashed the ball into the net. Poplar did respond by testing their keeper Shamiur Rahman but he managed to make a double save with his team-mates Jual Ali, Mojidur Rahman and Aaron Fisher backing him up to keep the scoreline 1-0. Just before the half-time interval ACEs' captain Mawiatou Hambaliou Balde had an opportunity to extend the lead but couldn't find a way of going past the keeper.
In the second half ACE turned up the heat on their opponents and started to slice the opposition's defence open and they deservedly did so after Ryan walked the ball into the net from a Syed Ali cross. Moments later Syed got on the scoresheet after his shot was too hot to handle by the keeper. At this stage of the match it became a one-sided game after dominating with possession. Abdul Miah then made it 4-0 before Nazmul scored his second of the match after lifting the ball over a defender's head and then striking it past the keeper. Balde came close to scoring his first goal of the match after dribbling with the ball from midfield but his in-bound shot on goal was snatched by Syed who was standing in an off-side position and was disallowed. However, Balde’s efforts were all paid off after scoring ACEs' sixth goal. Poplar did have the chance to score a consolation goal but the ball was cleared off the line by Syed. ACEs' substitute Shumon Zaman came off the bench and came close to scoring his first goal for the club but struck the ball wide from six yards, although he had an entire open goal to aim at. It will always be a moment that he’ll never forget as the ball was handed to him on a plate.

09/09/07 RYAN’ S STUNNER ENOUGH TO SEE OFF BETHNAL GREEN
ACE FC got their first win of the season as they dug their heels deep into a very strong and physical Bethnal Green FC side who have yet to get their campaign off the mark. ACE wanted to bag three points against one of the toughest opposition in the league. The first half saw a lot of possession being dominated by ACE and they should’ve taken the lead 15 minutes into the game when Abdul Miah had a one-on-one with the keeper but his first attempt was stopped by keeper and his follow-up from the save was blocked by the defender. Just before the half-hour mark ACE took the lead after Syed Ali’s pass released Ryan Clarke who thumped a vicious shot into the top right-hand corner, which eventually ended up ripping the goal net. Minutes later Onaldo Dos Santos should’ve doubled ACE’ lead when he tried to dink the ball over the keeper but managed to keep the ball out from going into the net. By half-time ACE could’ve been up by three to four goals but they lacked in the killer instinct in front of goal.
The second half was no different from the first but Bethnal Green did seem to attack a lot but ACE’ defence stood firm and kept them at bay. Although ACE did create a hatful of chances as they hung on to that one goal lead. Syed, Jallal Miah and Nazmul Hussain all came close to scoring. Mid-way through the half Bethnal Green were reduced to ten men when their centre midfielder was shown a straight red card for using abusive language towards the referee. ACE did look a bit edgy towards the remainder of the game but managed to come away with the three points. Late on in the game Bethnal Green went down to nine men after their striker decided to walk off the pitch due to the team’s anger and frustration. Both teams played very good football and at the end of the final whistle, it was ACE who came out on top.

02/09/07 DISAPPOINTING ACE HELD TO A DRAW
ACE FC returned to league action as they met Bromley By Bow ‘B’ FC in their opening game of the season in the ILFL winter league. After last season’s disappointment of failing to reach the Premier Division, ACE knew that their new campaign needed to be kick started with a win. Unfortunately this was not the case as ACE had a lacklustre performance in the first half, whom rarely tested Bromley’s keeper. Aaron Fisher saw his thunderous free-kick strike the woodwork but none of ACE’ attacking players had any clear cut chances. Abdul Miah also saw a shot come back of the post, although ACE dominated the half with more possession.
The second half didn’t see any improvement from both teams, but twenty minutes into the half Bromley ‘B’ took a surprise lead when they carved open ACE defence when a through ball was given to an attacker who slotted the ball through ACE’s stand in keeper Shamiur Rahman’s legs. Minutes later ACE were lucky not to have conceded another after Shahidul Kabir lost possession of the ball in a dangerous position, but luckily Shamiur bailed him out by making a save. ACE were on the verge of losing their opening game of the season until they were awarded a penalty for hand-ball. Mawiatou Hambaliou Balde got the equaliser after smashing the ball with great venom into the net. The match ended all square as both teams walked away with a single point.

BFA SUMMER LEAGUE MATCH REPORTS 2007
12/08/07 SMOKIN’ ACE SYED NETS HAT-TRICK IN SEASON FINALE
ACE FC have been crowned as BFA Division 3 champions after beating rivals Robin Hood FC 4-0 in the closing game of the season and remained the only team with an unbeaten record.
Robin Hood kicked of the match looking to end ACE’s unbeaten record but ACE stood firm with a dominant back four and midfield as Robin Hood struggled to create any clear cut chances or test the keeper. 10 minutes into the half an unlikely delivery from Aman Uddin saw his free-kick headed into the net by Syed Ali to give ACE the lead. 2 minutes later Aaron Fisher created the second goal for Syed who leapt into the air and headed the ball over Robin Hood’s goal keeper who was left stranded. Syed completed his first half hat-trick and got his 11th goal of the season on the stroke of half-time. Aaron’s corner from the right was superbly met by the unmarked Syed. ACE continued their superb performance in the second half as Nazmul Hussain came very close to getting his name on the score sheet when his lob went fractionally wide of the post. ACE were denied a penalty after Syed was brought down inside the box but the referee immediately stated that his final decision was incorrect. Meanwhile Aziz Diallo scored ACE’ fourth after he outpaced two of Robin Hood’s players to fire past the keeper for his 11th goal in all competitions. Throughout the course of the season ACE FC have entertained all the spectators and putting on an exhibition show for more than a crowd of 50 and over on the last day of term clearly sends a chilling message to all their other rivals as to why they are BFA Division 3 champions. ‘They think it’s all over, it is now.’
(ACE 4-0 ROBIN HOOD)
05/08/07 ACE ONE GAME AWAY FROM AN UNBEATEN SEASON
ACE FC recorded another comfortable win and bagged another three more points after beating Weavers FC 3-1. ACE FC can be regarded as BFA Division 3 champions although they still have Robin Hood FC to play in their final game of the season. Mathematically it is still possible for Robin Hood FC to be crowned as champions, however ACE FC have a far more superior goal difference between the two sides as both teams go head-to-head.
With the absence of Syed Ali, Shahidul Kabir and their captain Mawiatou Hambaliou Balde meant that ACE FC’ manager Hassan Khan had to shuffle around with some of his players. Right from the start ACE dominated the half with possession and took the lead after 13 minutes when Nazmul Hussain used his pace and agility to break away from his marker before tucking the ball into the far corner of the goal. Unfortunately their lead only lasted for a few minutes after Weavers FC were awarded an indirect free-kick just on the edge of the 18-yard box. ACE’ goal keeper got a hand to a beautifully struck shot but the shot was too vicious to for him to have kept it out with some poor organization prior to the set-piece situation. Few minutes before the interval Nazmul had a marvelous opportunity to restore ACE’ lead but his shot was saved by the keeper. The second half saw ACE FC raise the tempo of the game after going awe. Yet it took them time to regain the lead and they rightly did so after Onaldo Dos Santos whipped the ball into the far post where both sets of players were scrapping to gain possession of the ball when Nazmul just lofted the ball over his head and into the net. Meanwhile Weavers did not have a clear attempt on goal nor tested Shahed Kashem. Aziz Diallo rounded off the match after scoring ACE’ third during a counter-attack. Anderson Nkafu Aka came close to scoring the fourth but his header sailed over the bar.
(ACE 3-1 WEAVERS)
29/07/07 RAMPANT REDS ONE STEP CLOSER TO BEING CHAMPIONS’
With two games remaining and the climax to the season being just round the corner, ACE FC have already secured their promotion status into next summer’s second division after beating Abohani FC ‘B’ 5-1. It means that ACE are one win away from becoming division three champions.
ACE made a bright start to the match but were unfortunate to have fallen behind after 8 minutes into the game as Abohani B’s centre forward headed the ball past ACE’ second choice keeper Shahed Kashem. From the restart ACE constantly applied pressure after creating a hatful of chances but Syed Ali saw two of his efforts denied by the goal posts. Nazmul Hussain went close to getting the equaliser after he lashed the ball ferociously on the half volley at the keeper, only for him to see it being tipped over the bar for a corner kick from a point blank range. The constant perseverance eventually paid off as ACE got the equaliser from Syed, as both teams ended the half all square. The second half saw ACE step up a gear, which saw them take total control of the game. Several minutes into the half Onaldo Dos Santos gave them the lead after his left foot free-kick was curled into the top corner of the far post. Abohani ‘B’ rarely tested Shahed in goal who was a spectator for the majority of the match. Despite a 2-1 lead the job wasn’t done and dusted as ACE went on to score another three more goals; a brace from Nazmul and substitute Ryan Clarke scored their fifth and his first since the opening game of the season against East One FC.
(ACE 5-1 ABOHANI 'B')
15/07/07 ACE CRUISE TO VICTORY
ACE FC have cruised to another victory after beating Newark 'B' FC 3-0 and have kept their three point lead at the top intact. It was a comfortable win for ACE although Newark 'B' did create chances within the first few minutes of the half. ACE' Nazmul Hussain had the first attempt on goal but his shot was struck directly at the keeper. However ACE broke the deadlock after 13 minutes when Syed Ali threaded the ball to Nazmul who managed to beat the off-side trap by timing his run and sliding the ball past the keeper. Moments later he got his second when Abdul Miah crossed the ball from the right-hand side where Nazmul volleyed the ball into the net.
The second half saw very few chances being created from both sides but ACE went onto score their third goal of the match when Syed bundled the ball into the net from close range. Another win for ACE in this league would certainly guarantee promotion into Division 2 next season but the remaining games may be very crucial as it can determine who finishes the league as champions.
(ACE 3-0 NEWARK)
08/07/07 NOT LUCKY NUMBER SEVEN
For the first time this season ACE FC dropped points after drawing 1-1 against West End Utd B. Having heard that their closest rivals Robin Hood FC lost their match 3-0 against Soul FC meant that a win for ACE would stretch their lead at the top to five points. West End Utd B dominated the match for most of the first half and had created several chances to take the lead but had a goal disallowed for off-side. On the other hand Nazmul Hussain had a couple of chances to put ACE ahead but his shot hit the side netting. Just before half-time West End Utd B took the lead after poor judgement of the flight of the ball by Shahed Kashem saw it fly past him.
In the second half ACE were chasing the game as they wanted to maintain their unbeaten run. They created more chances by stepping up the tempo of the game and got the equaliser they were looking for. The goal came twelve minutes from time when Aziz Diallo volleyed the ball into the net. Unfortunately ACE left it too late to get the winning goal in order to make it seven consecutive wins, however their lead at the top has been stretched to three points.
(ACE 1-1 WEST END UNITED 'B')
01/07/07 ACE NARROWLY ESCAPE DEFEAT
ACE FC kept their winning streak intact after narrowly escaping the taste of defeat at the hands of bottom of the table contenders, Manor FC. Five minutes into the first half, Manor FC were awarded a penalty after Anderson Nkafu Aka tripped one of the opponents within the area. ACE' second choice goal-keeper Shahed Kashem saved the penalty but moments later things turned sour for him as he conceded a soft goal in, which should've been an easy catch for him. Subsequently ACE conceded a second within the space of minutes as Manor FC capitalised on ACE' defensive errors. This left ACE bedazzled and just before the stroke of half-time ACE were back in the game after Ben Chukwu-Onu ended his goal scoring drought by heading the ball into the net from Abdul Miah's corner-kick.
Having left the first half on a high ACE chased the game in the second half and went in search for the equaliser. ACE piled on pressure by applying waves upon waves of attack and scored the equaliser when Ryan Clarke's cross was diverted by Syed Ali's diving header where Aziz Diallo was on hand to smash the ball past the keeper. ACE still had time to get the winning goal and they did when Aman Uddin crossed the ball to Syed who calmly controlled it with his left-foot and drilled the ball into the net.
(ACE 3-2 MANOR FC)
17/06/07 SHADWELL 'A' SCRAPE PAST ACE
ACE FC reached the second round of the BFA Cup after Shadwell 'A' scraped past them by a single goal. ACE were en route to the second round after beating one of their league oppositions, Weavers FC 3-1 in their opening game of the competition. ACE fielded a weaker team and struggled to get to grips with their attacking football as Weavers dominated most of the first half. But just before the stroke of half-time Aziz Diallo put ACE in the lead. In the second half ACE conceded a soft goal after Konak Miah parried the ball, which went into the net after rebounding off the inner goal post. The game was destined to go into a penalty shoot-out but Aziz scored another two more goals to complete his hat-trick.
(BFA CUP 1st RD - ACE 3-1 WEAVERS)
In the second round ACE played Shadwell 'A' and ACE fell behind after Konak Miah fumbled a shot. ACE were lucky enough not to concede a second after some brilliant build up, which saw a thunderous volley past Konak Miah who had no chance of keeping it out. ACE were glad to see the goal being disallowed for off-side. ACE did have a decent chance when Abdul Miah found Syed Ali who saw his shot denied by a leaping goal-keeper. In the second half ACE looked more revitalised and energetic with Mawiatou Hambaliou Balde and Onaldo Dos Santos running the show but the 'dynamic duo' just couldn't find a way of breaking Shadwell 'A' down. Late on Balde had the chance to force the game into a penalty shoot-out but his shot was off target.
(BFA CUP 2nd RD - ACE 0-1 SHADWELL 'A')
10/06/07 STRUGGLING ACE OVERCOME NEWARK C
ACE FC seemed to have struggled against Newark C as the team looked very tired and exhausted in the hot and humid weather. They overcame their opponents by beating them 4-1. Newark C had dominated the half with possession and created several chances to take the lead. However ACE did take the lead when Jallal Miah scored his first goal of the season by volleying the ball into the net from outside the 18 yard box. ACE should have extended their lead but Ben Chukwu-Onu saw his shots sail over the bar as well as being denied by the keeper.
In the second half ACE allowed their opponents back into the game by conceding a penalty when Anderson Nkafu Aka was penalised for shirt tugging. Unfortunately Konak Miah couldn't find a way of keeping Newark C at bay. With less than fifteen minutes remaining on the clock it seemed that ACE were going to drop points for the first time this season until twinkle toes Aziz Diallo scored two goals in quick succession. His first came from a corner-kick where he back heeled the ball into the net. His second came when he literally walked with the ball into the net after Jallal Miah threaded a through ball to him. Lately Onaldo Dos Santos has been making a habit of scoring goals from corner-kicks and yet again he scored another by curling the ball into the far post. 03/06/07 FIVE STAR ACE DISPOSE SHOREDITCH
ACE FC are the only team to have a 100% record after picking up another valuable three points against Shoreditch FC. Aziz Diallo gave ACE the lead after curling a low right foot shot into the bottom right-hand corner. Shoreditch thought that they had equalised when their free-kick was heading into the goal only for the agile Konak Miah to punch it out for a corner kick. ACE had a hatful of chances but lacked the killer instinct up front. However ACE were awarded a penalty when Aziz Diallo had his shirt tugged inside the area but Aziz saw his shot saved from the spot-kick.
Several minutes into the second half ACE' manager Hassan Khan made some changes to the team by giving Onaldo Dos Santos a cameo role and didn't take long for the Brazilian genius to net his first goal of the season by curling the ball into the net from a corner-kick. Moments later Onaldo turned creator for Syed Ali who headed the ball into an open goal. Mawiatou Hambaliou Balde scored the fourth after an excellent build up between him and Onaldo. Onaldo rounded off the match by scoring his second of the match. (ACE 5-0 SHOREDITCH)
20/05/07 ACE RUN RIOT AGAINST ST. KATHERINE In the second half ACE still had fire burning in their belly and went to score another four more goals with the first scored from a close range by Nazmul Hussain. Syed assisted Ben who saw his shot deflected into the net. Nazmul then got his second after lobbing the keeper. Towards the end of the match Mawiatou Hambaliou Balde also saw his shot deflected past the keeper. St. Katherines did manage to score a consolation goal during a counter-attack, which saw the ball headed past Konak Miah. It was the only chance St. Katherines have had during the entire length of the game. But the game belonged to ACE after an emphatic scoreline.
(ACE 7-1 ST. KATHERINE)
13/05/07 A BRACE OF GOALS FROM SYED HELPS ACE TO VICTORY
ACE FC recorded their second victory of the season as they beat Soul FC 3-1. ACE opened the account after Syed Ali dribbled with the ball into the opposition's half and played the ball across the face of the goal to Nazmul Hussain who as usual slotted the ball into the back of the net. Moments later ACE got their second and this time it was Syed who scored after taking a powerful shot at the keeper. ACE were unlucky to have conceded a goal from a set-piece after some poor organisation by the team. This enabled Soul FC right back into the game.
In the second half ACE went in search of that all important third goal to put the game beyond Soul's reach and they did after Abdul Miah's corner kick was poorly defended by Soul when Syed poked the ball into the net. ACE had been the dominant team for the majority of the game and did create several other chances with their left-back Shamiur Rahman having an attempt at goal with a thunderous volley but was unfortunate to have his shot blocked.

06/05/07 ACE HIT SIX PAST EAST ONE FC
ACE FC' Abdul Miah grabbed his first hat-trick of the season as they thumped East One FC 6-0. ACE reknown for their attacking ability did not waste any time and took the lead when Abdul's corner kick found Syed Ali who headed the ball past the keeper. Abdul Miah scored his first goal when Nazmul Hussain's shot was fumbled by the keeper where Abdul was on hand to volley in the rebound. Moments later he got his second when he calmly placed the ball into the net. By half-time he completed his hat-trick from the spot-kick after Nazmul Hussain was fouled inside the area.
After the interval ACE completed their rout as they grabbed another two more goals scored by Nazmul Hussain and Ryan Clarke. It was a typical goal scored by Nazmul who used his electric pace to skip past defenders, and Ryan using his physical strength to out muscle the defenders. East One FC created very few chances but just could not find a way of breaking their opposition down.

Aldgate Club East won the East London Summer League 1st division title without kicking a ball. However ACE's opposition Clichy failed to turn up and ACE were awarded a 3-0 win.
